Reflections!
Thank goodness I have been given the class. It's the time in my day where I relax and can focus on something I am interested in. Period 5/6 is a tranquil sanctuary for me to unwind. the first marking period is always tough, getting back in the groove of things and getting acclimated back into the art world, but with in a few days I feel as if I had not even left for the summer. The past 3 months have been so enjoyable, and the rest of the year is a blank canvas ready for me!
It's Me!
This idea of the self portrait makes me so eager to work! I love the idea of creating a pose, making it fit the page, an letting go. M pose is unique with my hand out and a smile as subtle as Mona Lisa's. we first began with a monochromatic color study andI customized my own green color to work with adding low lights and highlights with black and white. But, I always gravitate toward black and white and continued with a color study using those colors. And i love it! I will be continuing my large self portrait using different shades of black and white until time to ink and wash...
Cant wait!
Cant wait!
Fruit!
So last week we were assigned to draw a fruit display. I am experienced in this because last year we drew flowers in the same manner. Drawing is not my favorite thing and my patience level for it lacks, greatly. I am the kind of person you gives up at the first glimpse of a challenge. And with everything else, I become flustered. But, I always work though it and I DID. The work was worth it and my sketches looked great. i hope to keep improving this skill.
